The last time I traveled, I did it for both personal and business reasons within my region. I hadn't been to Mbanza Ngungu since this year.
When I was there, I made the decision to meet my English teacher, the one who gave me the courage and desire to study the language.
Mr. Carlin Kimfunzi is his name ( the famous, lovely teacher when I was in high school). We used to have a relationship where he was more than just a teacher to the people; he was also a partner and a collaborator.
This relationship was created when a select group of people from the Pan African Youth Leadership Program were chosen to represent my high school and my country in the United States. (PAYLP is designed to provide secondary school youth (ages 15-18) and adult educators the opportunity to explore priority policy themes such as civic education, climate resiliency, conflict resolution, economic development, entrepreneurship, respect for diversity, women’s empowerment, and youth leadership development.)
I observed how they were being taught basic English before their trip.
They gave me a dictionary, where they wrote "The limit of my language is the limit of my globe," it was written. It means that the people who speak only one language, live in one world. In this era, the world is referred to as Global Village where business and interactions have crossed the boundaries of Nations and continents. Hence learning and having multilingual skills enhances the employability and professional Success
Boys and girls club of IMAV
Imav is my high school. As part of their project for the Paylp It Forward program, they wanted to give young people a place to develop and learn both soft and hard skills. They got the idea from the Boys and Girls of Muncie (https://www.bgcmuncie.org/) and used it to start their own Boys and Girls of Imav club. This club was initially an English club where students could learn English, and Mr. Carlin was the teacher in charge.
It was in this group that I first began learning English. our English school program was anticipated. The club provided me with the ideal opportunity to sharpen my English.
The day English becomes your second language will be the day you start dreaming in English
.
After my experience at the English club boys and girls club of IMAV, my second English teacher's Mr. Henock M., remarked on this. I made the smart decision to fill my vacancies. I made the choice to visit the English center for each opening. I recalled making the decision to study English with Mr. Henock with my friend. I was still laughing when I thought back to our initial conversation. Sometimes the teacher allots us thirty minutes to speak with my friend Beni D in English, but we couldn't achieve 10 uninterrupted minutes.
It was in this center that the teacher told me the day I will dream in English, it will be the day that English will become my second language. After several years I made my dream in english. It was one of my memorable days. I called my friend to tell him that I made it.
My path to multilingualism
between the boys and girls club of imav and my dream in english they have a gap. I wanted to study other languages in addition to English. I therefore make the decision to learn additional languages, such as mandarin (the Chinese language), swahili, Kikongo, etc.
by watching tedx (https://www.ted.com/ ),
learning some MOOC (massive online courses),
using duolingo, and participating in some clubs.
but remembering practice makes perfect.
because it is possible to speak many languages. One person who inspired me to be a polyglot was a man who speaks more than 10 languages (@laoshu505000). Moses was a wonderful person.
someone once said “Nobody can take away what you've got in yourself, and everybody has potential they haven't used yet.”

Félicitations Jo.
